New Noology Network was an alternate reality game (ARG) that was created to be a lead in and companion piece to the recently launched AMC series Dispatches from Elsewhere.

I worked as one of two VFX artists on the project, with my primary role to generate the visuals used to represent the dreams of patients undergoing a futuristic, sci-fi sleep study. The process was intensive and called for lots of research into generating extremely abstract imagery using a combination of GANs and After Effects. Most of the time I would generate the content used for that night’s livestream the same day, as we liked to be topical and responsive to our audience. All in all it was something like 14 hours of dream imagery.
